In 2009, Big Tupper re-opened because hundreds of dedicated volunteers offered their time, money and efforts in hopes of creating a vibrant and sustainable recreation venue in Tupper Lake. Residents took matters into their own hands and did what most people said was not possible. As a result – business, activity and revenue all increased at local lodging, restaurant and retail businesses.
